Common Questions
- Is the bag really waterproof?
Yes — the system is designed to be fully waterproof for off-road and adventure travel.
- Do I need a pannier rack?
No — the Reckless 80L is a rackless luggage system, meaning it mounts without metal racks to reduce weight and complexity.
- Can it fit different bikes?
Yes — with its adjustable leg angles and flexible harness, the system is compatible with a wide range of motorcycles, from enduros to larger ADV bikes.
- Can I add accessories?
Yes — you can pair the luggage system with optional accessories like the Gnoblin rear mounting system for faster mounting/dismounting.
- Can I lock the system?
Locking the Reckless system isn’t as straightforward as the Backcountry Panniers, but there is a secure way to do it during installation.
When you install the center harness and leg holsters, you can run a locking cable through each leg between the center harness and the leg holsters before you install the hardware. The cable ends up sandwiched between the harness and the leg holster, so once everything is tightened down, the locking cable is captured inside and can’t be removed unless the system is disassembled.
If securing your luggage is an important need, then we'd recommend leaning towards the Backcountry Panniers, as they were designed with an aluminum locking bar, permanently riveted in place.
Tips for Use
- Pack heavier items lower and closer to the bike’s centerline for better balance.
- Adjust the leg angles to suit your bike’s frame and riding style.
- Consider adding modular accessories (e.g., auxiliary pouches or dry bags) for organization.
