Yes, it is possible to ride two-up with the Reckless 80L (R80) system, but comfort and fit depend heavily on the bike, passenger setup, and how the luggage is positioned.
How the Reckless 80L Sits on the Bike
The Reckless 80 is designed to sit forward on the seat and side panels, rather than hanging far off the rear of the bike. On larger ADV bikes like the Triumph Tiger GT Pro, this generally works well, but it does mean the system can overlap into passenger space depending on seat length and rack setup.
Comfort Considerations
When riding two-up, here are the main factors to consider:
- Seat length: If your bike has a longer seat, that helps, but the R80 may still reduce usable space for the passenger.
- Rack setup: A rear rack can help push the R80 slightly farther back, improving passenger room.
- Passenger size & posture: Taller or more upright passengers may notice the luggage sooner than smaller riders.
- Trip length: Short rides are usually fine; longer trips may require more dialing in.
Many riders successfully run the Reckless 80 two-up after adjusting strap tension and positioning, but it can feel snug for the passenger if the system is mounted too far forward.
Tips for a Better Two-Up Setup
- Use a rear rack to shift the system rearward when possible
- Keep heavier items low and forward in the side dry bags
- Avoid overpacking the top Stinger or tail section
- Have your passenger sit on the bike while you fine-tune the strap tension

Alternative Options for Frequent Two-Up Riding
If you plan to ride two-up often and want maximum passenger comfort, consider the Backcountry Panniers or Alpine Panniers.
These options keep the passenger area completely clear.
