Our panniers are designed to work with most ADV and dual-sport motos, but the key is having a sturdy side rack. If your bike has a standard pannier rack, chances are good our gear will mount right up.
Key Pannier Compatibility Criteria
- Steel is best
- Simple, symmetrical rack is optimal for secure mounting.
- Mounting bars should lie in the same vertical plane—no major protrusions or angled tubes.
- Tube diameter should fall within standard ranges (16–18mm typically fits best).
- Obstacles or luggage loops can interfere with mounting hardware—review your rack’s layout.
If your bike doesn’t have a rack yet, we recommend checking options from companies like Outback Motortek or any others listed on our Fitment Guide.
Rack Sizing
- Our Backcountry panniers mount to nearly any rectangular or asymmetric rack
- Our Alpine 30L fits the same rack geometry
- Offset racks? No problem — choose the Offset Kit when selecting panniers
- BMW GS/GSA owners — Want to be able to switch between Backcountry Panniers and OEM-mount hard boxes? Check out our Euromount Pannier Kits or the Retrofit Kit.
If you’re unsure about compatibility, send a photo of your rack setup to Support — we’ve seen just about everything and can give you a thumbs-up fast.
