This page shows pannier rack systems that are compatible with the Backcountry 35L Pannier Wedge-Mount system, and the Scout 25L Pannier system, including any known fit issues. If you send us a pic of your rack we can provide an opinion of whether it will work. If you check out the video below, you can see how the mounting system works and you may be able to figure out whether it will work on your specific rack or not.
A PDF of the Wedge-Mount dimensions can be downloaded by clicking HERE. Use this if you are making a custom rack or want to test the dimensions against an existing rack you are not sure about. It can be printed out at 1:1 scale and held up against your rack.
Hepco & Becker Gobi Run a bolt right through one of the horizontal slits at the top and use a washer on the back. Drill another hole or use a grinder to expand the mounting bracket for the second top attachment.
Outback Motortek Standard
Wolfman
Happy Trail (Traditional Open-Loop Style)
Happy Trail SL
Happy Trail Gen 5 Drill two holes per side, bolt the wedge directly to the plate at the top, use pucks on the bottom rung only.

Touratech *Remove locking loop on latch located on pannier frame for newer Africa Twin & newer BMW 1200GS models.
Givi Racks - All We recently became aware of a fit issue with Givi racks on the BMW R1200GS WC. They will still work on the 1200, but may require some modifications. In general, most Givi racks can be retrofitted to work, but we do not typically recommend these racks for new pannier installations.
Givi Racks - Outback Trekker Remove the metal tongue at the top, the two attachment points at the bottom, and anything else protruding from the rack. They will need to be completely removed ground off. Also, note the newer Honda and Triumph Racks (made by Givi) can not be made to work as the mounts have been welded on now and cannot be removed.
SW Motech EVO Our pucks & wedges fit on SW Motech EVO racks. If you have a newer BMW R1200GSA LC with SW Motech racks, or another bike with puck clearance issues, check out this install guide put together by Chuck Henley. Alternately, you can also drill a hole through the center of the rack and bolt the wedge directly to the rack with a nylock nut and a large washer on the back, in any spot where the mounting pucks will not fit.
Tusk Tusk racks are generally compatible after removing the spring-loaded pin at the top. Simply pull off the circlip with pliers. It's non-destructive, and the pins can be reinstalled in the future.
Outback Motortek X-Frame Mosko panniers can be mounted using three of the four pucks.
*We only sell the Standard rack from Outback Motortek (without X-Frame Rotopax mounting plate).
OEM Pan America Rack Do not install the four attachment points on the upper and lower bar of the rack.
OEM Yamaha T700 Rack
The OEM Yamaha rack is made by Givi and so they will need the Oil Cooled Adapter. There will be a very slight angle (between 2-3mm), but they can put some spacers in between the rack and the adapter to straighten it out.
SHAD 4P Mount System Mosko panniers can be mounted using three of the four pucks that come with the Backcountry Pannier Kit.
Known Fit Issues
Racks with known fit issues are listed below. Some of these can be made to work if you're handy and have access to tools:
SW Motech PRO SW Motech's new PRO racks aren't compatible with Mosko panniers without drilling three additional holes in each side of the rack. Please see this PowerPoint for a summary of the procedure.
Bumot Rack For the Bumot racks, we don't typically recommend them because of the offset on the Bumot rack. Our Oil cooled adapter is the closest in an offset to the Bumot. The Bumot has an approximately 55mm offset and the Oil cooled adapter is 65mm, which means that you have to add a spacer between the lower tube and the adapter - e.g. 2 -3 washers. Since the offset is not exact, there will be a slight tilt to the bags, but 10mm is barely noticeable to the human eye.
Happy Trail SU Rack The addition of this lower inner plate is not compatible with Mosko pucks. It can be made to work but purchase a model without this plate if possible.
Rally Raid Although many customers have mounted our wedge system on RR racks, these racks were not designed to support the weight of a full-size pannier, and we have observed a number of issues. For RR racks we recommend the Reckless 80 system.
NOT COMPATIBLE:
PMR Racks
Moose Racks
BMW Vario Racks
Givi Racks - Outback Trekker for newer Honda and Triumph Racks The newer Honda and Triumph Racks (made by Givi) can not be made to work as the mounts have been welded on now and cannot be removed.
