Where are your products made?

We manufacture in a small number of factories in Vietnam, China, and Bangladesh. We’re exceedingly picky about who we work with, not only in terms of quality and cost but also the factory itself and its management. 

When we pick a factory, we worry less about where it’s located and more about quality, cost, consistency, scalability, fit with our culture, and connection with the owner. We started Mosko because we love to travel. Going to places like Vietnam, China, and Bangladesh regularly is pretty cool. That’s one of the many things we love about our jobs. We try to tack on a couple of days/weeks of riding and exploring whenever we can. Vietnam, in particular, is great for two-wheeled travel.

Why do we manufacture in Asia?

If you’re searching for the best sewing factories globally, all roads eventually lead to Asia, especially if you want to make a complex item using modern materials and trims. 

Our products are complicated. They require lots of labor to sew, and they use fabrics and components made in overseas mills and factories. Labor is less expensive in Asia, and the sewing factories there are much larger and more sophisticated than the sewing factories here in the US. Given how complicated our products are, it’s not practical for us to manufacture them in the US or Europe. If we did, our prices - which are already at or near the top of the market - would be so prohibitively high that our gear would be unaffordable for nearly everyone.

We understand that some folks prefer to purchase sewn products in their home country. A handful of companies are sewing motorcycle garments and luggage here in the US. We encourage you to find those companies and support them if that's important to you. Nobody at Mosko will ever give you a hard time for that. We do things the way we do because we believe our approach delivers the highest quality, most feature-rich product. We believe in international trade, international travel, comparative advantage, and competition. Our customers can choose from many competing products created by companies worldwide.
