If you’ve washed your Basilisk Jacket (or any of our outerwear) and notice the fabric looking a little uneven or “patchy” afterward, you’re not alone. It’s a rare but known occurrence, and there’s a suggested fix our Apparel Team recommends.
How to Refresh the Fabric
-
1. Start with your usual outerwear detergentv
A technical wash like Nikwax Tech Wash works great, but whatever liquid detergent you normally use for your riding shells will do the job.
-
Spot-treat the area
Rub a small amount of detergent directly into the sections that look affected.
-
Give it a prewash
Run the jacket through a prewash cycle.
No prewash setting? No problem — just presoak it for 10–15 minutes after spot-treating.
-
Rinse thoroughly
Rinse the jacket with warm water, then gently wipe the area with a damp cloth to remove any residue.
